Indiadailyupdate.com – Actor Manju Warrier has moved a court in Kochi seeking protection from what she describes as a continuing campaign of false and damaging material online. The Third Additional Munsiff Court has issued notices to filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, Malayalam online news portal operator Shajan Skaria, and Meta Platforms Inc. in connection with her injunction suit.
The matter came before Third Additional Munsiff Court Judge Reeja R Nair on Saturday. The court has asked for the summons to be returned on November 5, the date fixed for the next hearing in the petition.
Temporary restraint issued
Warrier’s counsel, Santhi M, said the court has granted an interim injunction that prevents Sasidharan from allegedly making defamatory statements about the actor while the suit is pending. The civil action focuses on material circulated through media outlets and social-media platforms.
A person named Sanal Kumar Sasidharan continuously defames Manju Warrier, gives false news against her, and creates around 10,000 pieces of content daily on media and social media to defame her.
Santhi M told reporters that Warrier had approached the Munsiff Court with an injunction plea in response to the alleged posts and reports. She said the temporary order directs Sasidharan not to continue making statements that allegedly harm Warrier’s reputation.
