Prior to this, Ghosh visited the administrative building adjacent to the morgue to speak with the principal of NRS hospital.
He is currently being transported by road to Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas. A court appearance is scheduled for Friday. The victim's father submitted a new complaint at the Khardah police station, which falls under the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate. This legal action followed remarks made by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on August 9, coinciding with the victim's death anniversary.

Adhikari emphasized that justice would be served and a fresh case would be launched. He also acknowledged that the public has not forgotten Abhaya and pledged to do everything possible to ensure accountability.

All three names appeared in the initial First Information Report.
"Please start a new case, and action will be taken," said Suvendu Adhikari, adding that people have not forgotten Abhaya and he will do whatever is in his capacity to deliver justice.
The primary suspect in the original case was Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer who received a life sentence after being arrested. Following the submission of the fresh complaint, the victim's father expressed confidence that law enforcement would extend their cooperation.
