CJP Parliament March: Leaders Meet J.P. Nadda, Demand Pradhan’s Resignation

CJP representatives, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, are set to meet Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Monday. The meeting marks a shift from previous attempts to broker talks with lower-level officials, as the party insists on addressing its core grievances directly.
Key Demands
The CJP has outlined three primary objectives, including the immediate release of activist Sonam Wangchuk, the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and a Rs 1 crore compensation package for families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide. These demands stem from allegations of examination irregularities and frequent paper leaks, which the protesters claim have undermined the credibility of competitive exams.
“The government had extended an invitation for discussions in the early hours. Our key demands remain unambiguous,” he stated in an X post.
Meeting Dynamics
Ranka noted that he and Das are still at Nadda’s residence. The minister asked for additional time to coordinate with the government’s leadership on the party’s demands. Earlier in the day, the CJP had rejected offers to meet with the District Magistrate, the Secretary to the Union Government, and a State Minister, insisting on a higher-level audience with the Prime Minister or Cabinet Minister.
“Me and Saurav Das are still at Nadda ji’s residence. Nadda ji has requested some time to align with their leadership with regards to our following demands: Immediate release of Sonam Wangchuk, Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, Rs 1 crore compensation for all NEET aspirants who committed suicide,” Ranka said in an X post.
Protest Context
Thousands of students, activists, and professionals gathered at Jantar Mantar and surrounding areas on the opening day of the Monsoon Session, marching to Parliament. The protest, organized under the CJP banner, highlights concerns over systemic issues in competitive examinations. Despite the government’s efforts to establish communication, the demonstrators remained resolute in their call for accountability.
Authorities deployed baton charges and tear gas to disperse the crowd, with several protesters overcoming the barriers set up in central Delhi. Meanwhile, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his office within the Parliament House complex, though details of their conversation remain unclear.
