The reversal followed the state government’s decision to annul the JSSC-Combined Graduate Level (CGL) test along with every examination administered by outsourced firm TSR Data Processing Pvt Ltd (TDPL) since 2014, citing suspected malpractice.
Hunger Strike Ends, Agitation Continues
Mahto concluded his 16-day fast around midnight on Monday once the cancellation order was issued. Yet the following day he declared that a second wave of the campaign—aimed at eliminating corruption in JPSC and JSSC hiring—would commence shortly.
“I have ended my hunger strike, not the protest. The agitation will continue till the government gives a guarantee that no paper leak or irregularities will take place in recruitment examinations. We will soon launch the second phase of our protest, demanding corruption-free recruitment in JPSC and JSSC examinations,” Mahto said.
Monitoring and Audit Demands
Beyond the cancellation itself, Mahto pressed for the creation of a dedicated oversight body to track implementation of reforms and called for an audit of every corrective step taken.
