Abhijeet Dipke’s Father Claims Son Threatened Over BJP Pressure
Indiadailyupdate.com – Abhijeet Dipke s father claims his son received threats demanding he join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), according to recent statements made in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. Bhagwanrao Dipke, the patriarch of the family, revealed that his son was warned through a YouTube video that if he refused to become a BJP member, “we know where your parents live and we’ll deal with them.” This alarming message came in mid-May, shortly after Abhijeet launched the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and began organizing public demonstrations.
Family Under Pressure During Political Journey
The father described how the entire household lived in constant anxiety while Abhijeet pursued his political ambitions. “We were all worried when he took the political plunge. He went against my wishes. Nobody in our family had any political background,” Bhagwanrao explained. The couple had even pleaded with their son not to return from the United States in June, fearing he might be arrested upon his arrival in India.
During those tense initial days, the family temporarily relocated to the Konkan region to escape potential threats. “We were so scared that during the initial days we left home and stayed in Konkan. We were under tremendous pressure. There were threats of physical harm to us,” the elder Dipke recounted. The stress visibly affected their wellbeing, with the father noting, “We became so weak that we could barely stand. We were eating barely one roti a day. We could neither eat properly nor sleep.”
Recognition for Son’s Dedication to Public Service
Despite the hardships, Bhagwanrao expressed immense pride in his son’s commitment to serving the nation. “He has done really good work. He sacrificed his own job and dedicated it to the nation. The education he attained, he did not use it for himself; he used it for the public,” he stated with emotion. Abhijeet’s decision to forgo personal comfort for public service resonated deeply with his family, even as they faced external pressures.
Abhijeet’s mother, Anita Dipke, shared similar sentiments about the difficult period. “Every morning, I was scared to even look at my phone, fearing I would see a disturbing video. I would immediately call his friends to ask if he was safe,” she recalled. The couple mentioned that their son was attacked twice during the Jantar Mantar agitation, adding another layer of concern to their already anxious existence.
Following the conclusion of the protests, Abhijeet returned to his hometown and the family preferred to maintain a low profile. “He (Abhijeet) does not like too much show or publicity. Even when he had visited our village earlier, he did not allow any such celebrations or arrangements. He prefers a simple life and does not like unnecessary attention,” PTI quoted Dipke Sr as saying.
Political attention soon followed, with Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra minister Sanjay Shirsat visiting the Dipke residence in Waluj just three days after the protests ended. During this visit, the minister assured the family that he would request Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to arrange security for the CJP founder. This gesture provided some relief to a family that had endured considerable hardship during Abhijeet’s political campaign.
As the situation stabilizes, the family remains hopeful that the threats will subside.
