Student Leaders Rushed to Hospital as Jharkhand Recruitment Protest Nears Critical Talks

Protesters have submitted their representative names following a meeting with the Ranchi SDM at the demonstration site. An eleven-member team has been organized by the student protesters to engage in discussions with the state administration. The talks are expected to take place on Friday.
“We have formed an 11-member delegation, comprising eight students, two experts and an advocate, in response to the government’s offer to hold talks in connection with the stir,” said an office bearer of the ‘JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch’.
A five-member government panel, which includes ministers Dipika Pandey Singh and Sudivya Kumar, is anticipated to conduct discussions with the demonstrators. According to PTI reports, a separate five-member delegation had previously met with Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore revealed that a monitoring committee would be established to oversee the ongoing protests. The committee comprises ministers Dipika Pandey Singh, Sudivya Kumar, Chamra Linda, and Sanjay Kumar Prasad.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the recruitment scandal has gained momentum. Jharkhand Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey confirmed on Thursday that nineteen individuals have been detained so far in relation to the examination irregularities case.

On Tuesday evening, five demonstrators, including two female participants, joined Devendra Nath Mahto, the leader of Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM), in his hunger strike. Mahto has been observing the fast for six consecutive days.
The student protesters continue to demand the cancellation of the fourteenth Jharkhand PSC Civil Services Examination. They are also calling for an independent investigation into the alleged irregularities, either through the CBI or a panel of retired High Court judges from outside the state. Additionally, comprehensive reforms in both the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission are being sought.
